Our Beliefs We believe that there is a rich history inside the Christian Church that helps to build and guide us as we live out our faith today. While we may be independent and non- denominational -- we do not stand alone. We stand on the historical truths that have been passed down in Christianity. While the ancient creeds of Christianity do not carry the same authority as the Bible -- we believe they summarize and hold the truths of the Bible. They are time tested and have withstood the fires of persecution. Two such documents we believe to be true are the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. We have a very high regard for the Bible as the written word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible (correct and true) and authoritative in all matters of faith and life. We believe that there is one perfect God eternally existent in three persons -- the Holy Trinity -- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He is both truly God and truly man. He came in human form to sacrifice Himself, once for all, to set us free from sin and death so that we might not perish but have eternal life. This is the bedrock of our belief -- the spiritual DNA -- so to speak -- of our church. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death on the cross, in salvation through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, a person needs to repent and believe in Jesus as the Son of God. Then through the Grace of God they will be born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that the Holy Spirit’s ministry is to guide, teach and empower the believer. He also convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
